How to get gmail Emails by python | fetch Emails from gmail by python

In this tutorial we learn how to write a python script which can not only just fetch a data from gmail once, but can keep fetching the latest emails from the gmail account.

The output we get from this script would have sender's name, subject, body of the email and time of the email, from the gmail account.

IMAP is being used to fetch emails through your google account of gmail.

Run the python script on a schedule task, and it will keep looking from latest mails from the gmail servers.

Hello, I tried running your code which I typed exactly as you showed on the screen but knew I was going to get errors and did! Firstly "gmail_time.txt" does nt exist yet and then there are some format matching issues at the top when you define 'a' and process it later. I get a match error (value error).


So do you have an improved non-error throwing version to share via a link? Thanks... Tim
