Being a pear shape all my life, I've also discovered another important point to add. Somehow big and chunky shoes could also add more balance to the figure. Trust me, since being a teenager I've tried ballerina shoes, slinky stilettoes, slim heels - anything that made my feet look smaller since it's like that look that everyone wanted. But it didn't work. It just made my ankles and hips look even wider. But bigger sneakers, boots with a chunky bottom and a lot of lacing, knee high boots work very well: they add more balance to the hips and make my legs took slimmer in comparison to my feet. So if you're not into heels like me, I feel like the current fashion is very comfortable for a pear shape.

I'm a pear shape who followed all the rules without knowing they were actually "rules". I just learned what flatters my body and what I like thanks to all the amazing people like you here on youtube. This video made me realize everything and was a perfect summary, you did an amazing job! So glad and wishing you an amazing day from Italy <3

The one hill I will die on as a pear shaped person, is that low-waisted bottoms can go to hell. Remember those jeans we wore in the early 2000s? The epitome of uncomfortable and unflattering!

Being a proud pear shape, I wanna say that there are certain silhouettes that will flatter our body shape more, but does not mean we cannot wear any other silhouette, such as the halter and mini skirts. If you love that on you, please wear it.
In style, there are NO set rules, cuz style actuallt develops from your own essence.
Take every fashion advice, just as a guide.
This is coming from someone who had researched about the said rules since my teenage years.

I disagree with the idea that a pear-type body woman had better add volume to the upper area. If my hips are big, and I make my shoulders big, then my whole body will look wide and I'll look like a potato. This is especially true for someone like me, who's quite short in stature. What works best for me is to embrace my A-line.

I just recent realized I’m a pear shape and I find that all the do’s you suggested I naturally always choose. Except for skirts I don’t mind the form hugging skirts! But a boxy skirt is a nightmare. Great video

This body shape is my beauty standard. Everyone expects you to have the perfect hourglass body but I absolutely LOVE the triangle body

I’m a pear shape with quite big thighs. I have a lot of success with pencil shaped dress with mid thigh length over garment that covers the thigh. I find the close fit dress helps to keep me looking as small as possible

Being a not skinny pear with quite short legs I disagree with A silhouette but I have some tips for other lovely pears:
-put emphasis on your waist (even if you have a little belly you can still make it look good by tucking in the tops and wearing high waist)
-heel/platform add length to your legs
-wider bottom but skinny top - you keep the balance of having smth slim and smth loose in your outfit
-maxi skirts are great, again add length for legs, emphasise waist
-jackets that end up at your hips are fine as long as you go for an oversized jacket with wider shoulders
-if you want to wear a hoodie/sweater/shirt either tuck it in at your waist are or make it long (so that it ends below your hips)
-tight skirts are actually great, you get to show off the best part of your body, look feminine and just beautiful

I have to disagree on the A-line silhouette, as well as anything loose and flowing on bottom. As a fluffy pear, these types of skirts and dresses only seem to amplify my big lower half. The reason being, my bottom goes out one direction, my lower belly another, and my hips go out to both sides, creating a big tent. I actually look slimmer and more balanced in a below the knee sheath dress and a pencil skirt. Dark colored, stretchy yet structured, heavy fabric bottoms are my friend. But I did enjoy the video, and took away some tips, especially on necklines.

I am pear shape and agree with all of these except jackets. I have not had a ton of success with the long jackets as they hid the waist, unless it’s a military style jacket like you had in one of your images. My favorite go-to jackets are peplum style. They are perfection for a pear shape. It gives you the structured shoulder and cinched waist. Also I tend to avoid shorts and opt for crop pants or culottes - much more flattering.

As a pear and a uni student that have no time to dress properly nor get good clothing that fits my type, I have somewhat picked up on what looks good, but casual and in budget. Tops: wide and oversized tshirts (dont get the elongated oversized shirts, they show the pear) or puffy hoodies and dark colored fitted jeans or leggings. If you have high waist pants, pair with oversized tshirt and tuck it in to create an illusion of volume in the top. Basically try to avoid putting more weight on you bottom half, try to make ppl focus on your top half.

Woman! You are a genius! Simple and short video. Extremely detailed. I have watched a number of videos for body shape dressing but none worked out. I have broad shoulders and thick thighs with hips dips so I am usually confused with what shape I have exactly but I relate the most with pear body shape. Thank you for this amazing video!🌸

It would be nice to see some pics of outfits on actual pear shape models. The outfits shown look great on them but I don’t recall seeing any models with narrow shoulders and wide hips. This just makes me hate my body even more because I know that the suggested outfit while it may be the best option I have is still going to look terrible on my real pear shape. I HATE it.

You confirmed how I mostly dress is correct for my body type. I do have a bad habit of wearing loose fitting clothes to try and hide my hips. I’ve always worn Aline/ flare dress and skirts, I very seldom wear pants they are uncomfortable and I have fit issues. My tops I mostly have it right but I love big tops. Great video and thank you for sharing your knowledge. 😊
