lyra reviews: everdell | board game review

Besides this being my first proper video here (woop woop), here's me delving into one of my favourite board games: Everdell! Just a lil run down of what it looks like, how it plays, and my thoughts on it.

Your enthusiasm for the game is adorable.
Your speech is clear and understandable. You have a very soft voice, but you pronounce words clearly, and spoke loud enough. There were a couple of times you rushed some words, which were the only things I had problems understanding.
I have always had a fascination with games that have interesting components, or where you can build things. Either the board itself, like the tree, or the point of the game being constructing something.
While it was clear that the point of the game was creating your village, and that you needed resources to do that, what wasn't clear was how you acquired resources. There seems to be a step missing from the explanation. I am guessing it has something to do with the cards, but I am not sure how it works. Still you gave a good overview so if I was really interested in the game I could look up the exact steps if needed.
The one thing I would suggest that you do differently is if you really want to show off the artwork you need to present it better. You held two cards up to show them off, but they were not clear on camera. Close up shots of the cards would have worked better. The game obviously has great artwork, but what I saw was a blur.
If I had someone to play board games with I would consider getting this game. As it is I have too many games collecting dust already.
Having said that, I enjoyed your review. It brightened a gloomy, rather irritating afternoon.
Now I need to go work on stuff. :)

Man I wish I had people around me like you to play these kind of games.

Grew up playing games like Aquire and Risk. Then, we started making our own DND style games. Being able to be a character while having fun with friends is awesome.
