Chicken tikka masala was actually first created in England
lordjiggles
Chicken tikka masala was popularised by cooks from South Asia living in Great Britain and subsequently introduced to restaurants around the world.

Oh breading in meatballs is very common in Italy. Its not just filler, its an important ingredient in getting the perfect texture. Meat protein only becomes too stiff, you want them soft. Kinda like in Northern Africa and Spain where they emulsify a shitton of cream into it.
PLF...
Can't stand when Pappas talks out his ass bc he does it so confidently. Chicken feet are used in most cultures cooking and are the most expensive part of the chicken by weight in most parts of the world.

I grew up with an Italian guy we went to hes nonna's almost every Saturday. She made everything from scratch. Instead of mince in the spagbowl " Spaghetti bolognise" she would use lamb shanks and brake the meet up after it was cooked. So goood

The Chilean sea bass where I worked was patagonian tooth fish...one of the ugliest creatures on the planet. I couldn't eat it after seeing one lol

Our prawns are actually just shrimp lol. And less than 1 percent of Americans can tell the difference. I work in America btw lol

American immigrants created food that resembled their country’s cousin when they moved over here. Italians and Chinese had a lot more produce options in the states and were able to use foods they couldn’t over seas. The Chinese also created food for the American palette since most Americans would probably not eat a traditional Chinese meal.
So no, the Americanized food is not authentic but was made by the immigrants who came here.
Also, tikka Marsala is British Indian. Not American.

Tikka Masala was made when an Englishman tried Tikka (meat/vegetable marinated in spices, yogurt and grilled) and it was too dry for him. So, he complained to the Indian Chef who turned around and made a Masala sauce to go along with it.

Joe's close on the Chilean seabass thing. It isn't a bass at all.
There was a time when cod was abundant, but overfishing caused massive shortages. So some genius marketing guys rebranded this butt-ugly South Amerincan fish no one around the world was eating as Chilean Seabass.
It wasn't a cod either, but it was meant to fill the glut in the cod market. I never understood the appealyself. That sh*t's greasy and weirdly textured.
