My choice for of what I think is the best at home practice amp period.

An often overlooked feature of this amp is the flat speaker mode, you can use this not only for keyboard, but also for connecting a preamp pedal. I currently use a big ever changing pedal board connected to 2 THR amps (stereo) in flat speaker mode.

The THR30ii i can confidently and honestly say has been the best guitar gear purchase I have ever made. The amazing tones inspired me to play much more guitar. I have gigged with it through PA systems and always sounded killer. It is an incredibly musical and hi-fi sounding unit.

Thanks for your thoughts and demo. Great tones and playing. I love mine for my acoustic and electric guitars. I use the aux-in for my BeatBuddy pedal and Airstep Lite to control the effects. Great for home practice at any volume.

100%. The THR 10 is a fantastic little amp. I have a bunch of other amps and it is surprising how often the Yamaha gets the call. You can get such nice sounds out of it even without pedals.

- can I edit patches on my computer instead of my phone and load them into the amp? If so, the tiny screen becomes less important.
- what about changing patches on the fly, is that only by using the touchscreen/phone, or is there a footswitch for a/b or +/- patches?

Is it really that much better sounding than the Yamaha THR?

These are great videos, thank you so much and 'converted' me to the Yamaha THR10 and twin it with the Fender HH Telecaster Tidepool. Would you say that the Yamaha add you recommend would work with an ambient pedal sound? I am thinking of something like the Cloudburst. Your thoughts on it will be much appreciated, thanks again! I buy the5 watt artist full valve. Put a kick ass distortion threw with delay and kills it for very cheep money

I also love my YamahaTHR30II. Same reasons. I have several great tube amps, but they sound bad at bedroom level. Yamaha sounds really good at low volume. Can you share your favourite presets?

Of all the small desktop amps newer ones might have more stuff to fiddle with but I think the Yamaha still sounds best.

I'm thinking one of the Fender Princeton Reverb tube amps (not the tone master series) would make a fantastic home amp.

Have you tried the Fender Mustang lt25 or the Positive Grid Spark Go? They are both amazing for home, and the Fender could technically be used for gigging as well. And both under $150.

Nice vid pal, keep up the good work ! Recently I am thinking about either getting a low-wattage tube amp (Fender 65 Princeton / Supro Amulet, etc) and pair with a tone king ironman 2 attenuator or getting one of these modeling amp so I can practice in my apartment without bothering my cat and wife, still haven't decided tho.
