Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on PAP’s leadership transition

People’s Action Party deputy secretary-general Lawrence Wong on Sunday (Nov 5) commented on the party’s leadership transition. “Akan datang, it’s a matter of time,” he said during a speech at the PAP awards and convention.

The deputy prime minister also said the PAP must improve how it communicates as well as highlight differences between its policies and those of the opposition.

If you have stayed in other countries, you will see it clearly how corrupted it can become, causing chaos. So we need to have confidence in this new leadership and allow them to govern. They are trying to do good work so it can be a safe/good place for all of us. And all progress takes time, from draft to final masterpiece. Along the way there are gg to be many adjustments, so I think we need to give them some time. It's not a small feat or just some heroic act, it requires a lot of balancing act. 💪

PAP needs more check and balances / competition as "Absolute Power" and Supermajority will only lead to more complacency and the people losing out. Currently only less than 10% parliament are opposition MPs, so need to vote more opposition in .

Choosing the right people to be PAP MPs is the most important thing to keep PAP going. My area's MP Darryl David is well-known to be Bo Chap MP who doesn't reply, no follow ups and only 'care' for residents at the superficial level... We need to choose people who are indeed passionate about serving the country and the people.

Yes ..the policies must forcus on the people ...THE PEOPLE ..MEANS ..THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION...the needs of these ordinary raayat...not just the rich and powerful..(.for of course Singapore needs them too to bring ideas and entrepreneurship to the nation ).
It is the majority that the foundation of a nation is built ...that is why China 🇨🇳 now has to implement The Common Prosperity concept to its development...and also the concept that houses are for staying, not as an investment for speculation.
