In 1901, a devastating loss took place in the Lemp mansion of Benton Park, Missouri. It shook the family to their core and spelled disaster for the family fortune. Little did the Lemps know, this death was only the first in what was to become a long line of suicides and gruesome misfortunes.

Once one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the St. Louis area, the Lemps' fate quickly took a turn for the worse after building and moving into their new, luxurious home. Who exactly was this family, and what happened to them to make their ghosts stick around in the lavish family mansion?

In 1836, Johann “Adam” Lemp immigrated to the United States, leaving behind his native Germany. He soon started brewing beer from his basement. Adam Lemp was one of the first in the U.S. to brew German lagers rather than English ales, and the new style caused a sensation. Soon enough, he was growing an empire. Adam created the Falstaff beer brand – a name he thought would go down in history. It did, but not for the reasons Adam Lemp anticipated.

I was here for lunch and spent the afternoon exploring the house one summer when I was visiting my father. There is a very unpleasant air about this house, it's like a heaviness that never ceases. I took a bunch of pictures with my digital camera that day, and a lot of them were pitch black when I went to go look at all the pictures I took, so that was weird. One instance in particular though still gives me goosebumps to this day. At the top of one of the staircases there is a portrait of a woman in a lavender colored dress. I took a picture of it and went to look at on my screen, the image literally flipped upside down and stayed that way. At first I thought that maybe it was a glitch but I couldn't never flip the image right side up, I tried everything through settings. Flash forward a few years later, I am watching an episode of Ghost Adventures and they are at that location. They are speaking to the owner of the house standing right in front of that same portrait. The owner makes a comment about how they sometimes find that portrait hanging upside And the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Even from hundred of miles away in a different state, I felt the eerie pull of that house right there in that moment. Spookiest thing I've ever encountered.

The story is fascinating -- but why do some youtubers use these robot voices? It's very unpleasant. If you speak English why not narrate it yourself?

I’m not a fan of computer voices. Too bad, I really wanted to watch this!

Such a story should be narrated by a human, not a machine. Whoever wrote it, read it or get someone else to read it.
