This morning, I heard on the news that the Spinners are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fifty years of brilliance has culminated in a distinguished honor. Kudos!

The haunting guitar chords at the beginning run through the entire song, then Bell layers instruments throughout, and then when you think you've figured it out, at the 2:30 mark, he introduces the strings and horns for the bridge; just brilliant craftmanship, and Bobby's voice over it all. It's as smooth as soft butter. Driving thru Philly at night after a summer rain with the windows down, the street lights flipping by, and this playing on the eight track...

I played this song for the love of my life FOR YEARS… Im sad to say, she passed back in June from cancer. She fought hard for 5 years before it finally took her away.. God knows I miss her, so I come back here every now and then to listen by myself.
