Anyone gonna talk about how ridiculously tight this group is?!? bruh Nate's drumming circles around the beat and they aren't missing a thing!!

Everyone is here for the same reason. Nate's musicianship is absolutely unreal. There's chop worshippers out there. But, anyone that plays... understands the level of control, independence, discipline, and musical IQ (phrasing, dynamics AND feel) is masterclass across the board here. Pure class through and through.

Love the way Nate is pushing and pulling the time but, never loses the groove. 21st Century Tony Williams.

I'm so glad this has over a million views. Nate Smith deserves to be a jazz superstar. And all credit to his exceptional band too.

Dude, Mr. Smith’s independence right from the opening is incredible! The shaker, side snare, kick drum THEN THAT HEEL FOOT ON THE HAT? You may not be human sir. One of the best drummers I’ve seen in a long time and definitely one of the coolest, great band, music, musicianship, groove, all over my click bait lately

I've watched this multiple times and have been blown away each time I see it. However, this was the first time I realized that none of them are wearing in-ear monitors, Nate's timing is just that freaking good, no click, just years of work and great musicianship. I can't comprehend being that good at anything 🤯.

That timing... that's *just* behind, like an 1/8th of a beat behind, the main rhythm is simply amazing.

I know it's Zildjian and all, but can we give it up one time for that snare???

I saw them in concert for the very first time a few weeks ago at the Java Jazz Festival 2023 in Jakarta. He blew my mind. I became a fan. Here was a master musician showcasing his musical genius like no one else can. I've since watched countless YT videos and listen to him on Spotify. Thank you Nate for your incredible virtuosity.

As far as drummers are concerned, this is one of the greats. Used to admire drummers Art Blakey, Buddy Rich, and so on. All great before my time. Thanks Nate for always performing your best.

Nate's communication with the rest of the band is unreal. His drumming skills and the bands musicianship are out of this world. Would kill to be able to play like this.

Wow this amazing. Just discovered this pile of diamonds. Absoutly shining with groove and supreme musicality.

First time I watched this, I thought, "Impressive musicianship all around, no doubt, but I'm tired of all this odd-time stuff." Then I watched it again and thought, "That's pretty cool. It actually does groove." Then again, listening even more carefully—and I'm blown away. This is pure mastery.

So I was drumming in my church for the past few years without motivation. I was just filling the spot until the "real drummer" came. But then I thought to myself why not actually try to learn the drums and develop into a better musician. Saying this to say that I don't know why I watched this. Nate Smith you have helped me realize I better get way more serious and put in some real practice or else I should stick to playing pots and pans. Wow this was simply amazing. Pocket is deep and feel, dynamics and overall musicality are off the charts. Nate Smith you are a musical genius.

The breakdown around 12 minutes so good. The sax, so much groove, so much space ...OUTER SPACE and onward
