The ArchiMate® Specification, a standard of The Open Group, defines an open and independent modelling language for Enterprise Architecture that is supported by different tool vendors and consulting firms. The ArchiMate language enables Enterprise Architects to describe, analyze, and visualize the relationships among business domains in an unambiguous way. In this Toolkit episode, you will see how the TOGAF® content framework (metamodel) can be expressed in the ArchiMate modelling language to generate better visual between the various layers.

Patrick Derde will share a real life example of his experience as lead Architect of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) where true added value is realized using the ArchiMate Standard.

Marien Krouwel will demonstrate real-life examples of the ArchiMate Standard being applied in an Agile environment. He will show an example of applying several architecture methods and frameworks within the scaled agile environment at PostNL.

Participants will learn:
- how the TOGAF and ArchiMate Standards enrich each other
- real-life examples and benefits of the ArchiMate modeling language
- the many ways in which ArchiMate Standard can be leveraged such as in an Agile organization

Marien Krouwel is Low Code Architect and Architecture Trainer at Capgemini (Academy), with over 10 years of experience as solution architect. As architect, he embeds the use of low code and cloud technologies into the Enterprise Architecture, sets the constraints for successfully scaling low code and microservices in organizations, and guides agile low code development teams, by applying ArchiMate® and TOGAF® Standards, and DEMO (Design and Engineering Methodology for Organizations). As a trainer and coach, Marien guides developers, business analysts and architects, into their journey of becoming an (experienced) agile architect.
