I got a Short Cut!
60 sweets
Ration 2:5:3

1ST STEP: 2+5+3 = 10
2ND STEP:60 DIVIDED BY 10 (60/10) = 6
3RD STEP: 6*2=12
6*5=30
6*3=18
So the ratio is 12:30:18

For example 2 part b, can i write 12/60 for example for jessica or do i have to simplify it to 2/10 for the examiner to give marks?

Thank you so much, I am studying for my QTS Numeracy exam (looking to go into Primary Teaching) and I found this so easy! I generally over complicate ratios so this is a much simpler way of doing it!

When you are asked to put a ratio as a fraction do you lose marks if u simply them because my teacher says that you have to put it as what its out of.

People who don't get the last one:

She has 15000 but has to pay 40% for home pay which is 6, 000.
15000 minus 6, 000 is 9, 000.
So you have 9, 000 left so you have to add up your ratios (3+2+1) which equals 6 so you divide 9, 000 by 6 which is 1500. Then since the question is how much did Kerry spend on entertainment, which is the 2 in the ratio, you have to double 1500 which is 3, 000

Hi. I have watched ALL the surds video and i would like to say thanks and i understand surds about 95 percent the remaining 5 percent is using surds in shapes like on one of the questions on past exams it says 6 over square root 2 on two sides of a right angle triangle and then find the area. The question i seriously dont get. A help with totally be appreciated. Thanks.
