Look, I love my 2010 Goldwing and I wouldn't trade it in on a new Goldwing either. However, I would not even consider the "Chinese" bike because I've dealt with all the quality problems with Chinese products. Where you going to get parts and service on it when it breaks? I've got friends who bought cool bikes from small manufactures (like Motus, EBR) and guess what, no parts no dealer network, no company standing behind them anymore. Why would I want to buy a bike that becomes 25k paper weight after a few years.

I still enjoy my GL1500SE. If I ever get a GL1800 it will be an early generation that was made in Ohio. I ride Goldwings for the comfort and reliability.

I’m with ya Mo! I Love my 05 GL1800, not crazy the 2018. & newer because I like the wider look of the 1st generation GL1800

Hi Mo
I love my 2008, still runs fantastic. Have not seen one I would trade for yet. I did like the 2012. But the 2024 does nothing for me. Man keep on keeping on Mo.

Ho mo, good to hear you again, been ages, hope family is well, I’m with you on the goldwing, pre 2018 are THE best for touring, Honda should put new engine in the big bike, they missed a chance…. I’d try the new souo bike too…🇬🇧👍

I’m with you Mo!!! I have a 2008 wing. Wouldn’t trade it for a 2024. Bring back the original Goldwing as far as the big wide one.

You know, I’m very happy with my 2010 GL1800. My interest is not piqued by by a new Gold Wing, since they make such great motorcycles, no matter the year. If you take care of them, they last forever! Now, if and when my Red Scorpion decides to retire, just like my car, then I’ll be in the market for new vehicles. Also, my health, which is still good now (knock on the side of my head😅), will be a determining factor in any future purchases. I believe what some have said, enjoy YOUR ride, even if that ride is a 2025 motorcycle of any make and model. Thanks for sharing.
Ride Safely!

Good info. I like the movie cut LoL. I would be very leery of a China product for a touring bike. What will the dealer network be like?

I had a Kawasaki Concours in the late 80's and sold it to start my Yamaha Venture period in my life, which lasted about 30 years. I sold my 1983 Venture after buying my 2002 GL1800A within a couple of weeks. I will never go back to a sports touring motorcycle after having the comfort of the Ventures and the GW. The 2018's and up remind me of a sports touring bike almost like the Kawasaki Concours. If I ever get a newer bike, it will be a 2017 or older GW. Nothing out there makes me want the newer GW's. BTW, did you ever upgrade the seat on your 2002 GW?

Hay Mo they went with the 6th generation wing based on customer feedback as an overall. The majority of the people wanted a sport touring bike with a lighter weight. Honda is trying to attract younger riders. It’s possible they could fit crash protection at the factory and a better seat.

I moved up to the 2012 Goldwing and really like it.

That China bike looks like a Yahama Star Venture from the front. Wasn't a fan of the newer GW's due to DCT. Like the look and styling on my 06 GW.

If I can't fix it myself I don't want it no matter who makes it. I will keep my gl1500 without computer!

I'm have a chance to get an 2018+ goldwing, but it just doesn't "do it " for me like the older 1800s do. But I said the same thing when I went from a 1500 to my present 1800. I do like the looks of the China bike; it actually looks like a fancy 1500/1800. I also would consider one of those if the price/maintannce issues will be feasibly addressed

I'm constantly looking at the 1800's like yours to replace my 1500 but the new style Goldwings? Not a chance. Took one for a test ride a couple years ago and couldn't wait for it to be over. I'm not tall but the thing was cramped for my tastes and the seat was terrible and that was a 5 mile ride. If you have to add more wind protection, a seat and other upgrades to make it as good as my 1500 or your 1800, may as well buy a HD. As long as Honda keeps listening to youtubers talk the newer bikes up they will continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Souo saw a opening and they took a shot at it. It may well be my next bike, only time and miles will tell.

I don't think that Honda has anything to worry about as far as their GoldWing and the china Bike. As far as going back to a Big GoldWing is not going to happen. The days of the big Wing are over.
