How to Replace the HID headlight bulb in your (04-08) Acura TL without removing the front bumper and no special tools. Please excuse the vertical video.

Bought replacement headlight 6000K HID bulbs from Amazon. Previously I bought the cheap $9 set and one of the bulbs started flickering after only a few months and it was defintely not worth it. I've learned to spend good money on important things like headlights, especially when it takes an hour or two to swap do the replacement.

Your video is "on the money." Everything you point out absolutely correct and saved me time and a whole LOT of money!

Thank you a bunch nobody else tells you about that screw in the cover I've wasted two hours

In 0:54 where you say there is usually another screw here, well seems like it locked up due to age and unscrewing it just broke the attachment to plastic. I feel like this is causing a rattle now at high speed. I guess I can say it was somewhat of a success because the light is changed, but now have a rattle.

For anyone doing this job... Take the tire off and free the entire side of the liner and tuck it behind the rotor., it makes it so much easier to stick your head in there and see what you're doing. The small connector on top does not need to be removed either, just do it without disconnecting it. Before sliding the bulb back into place, get the spring clip to wrap around black plastic bit before trying to get it back in place, not enough room to bend the clip around the metal housing! Just did the passenger side which is not shown in the video and only cussed like 4-5 times.

Very informative! I changed my turn signal lights this way, and I didn't think about how it was as easy to reach the headlight bulbs! Mine are still working, so I will keep this video in mind.

Thanks, 2006 TL here and had to take the battery out to get the driver's side headlight cover out. There's no way it was coming out otherwise. Also my local Harbor Freight had the exact bit set still available in 2023

I bought a 100 dollar bulb from AutoZone it’s a silvania and it just flickers on but doesn’t turn on, might be the ignitor or just need a different bulb ?

What about the warning "do not remove this cover high voltage inside 25, 000 volts". Any precautions I should be taking before pulling that off?

I got the light bulbs off amazon, 8000K and 10, 000K bulbs but they are not bright at all at night! what is the problem, they are 35w bulb might be cheap. I try flipping the bulb facing up like u did here but still I can not see at night. My is a 2008 Acura TL Type S Automatic.

Can you use this method on the driver and passenger headlights

Does this same process also applies to the other side, the passenger side?

What size is that screw at the top? Would a normal torx screwdriver help?

All that to replace a bulb? That’s criminal on the manufacturer’s part. Make it complicated so they bring it in the shop is probably their train of thought on that one.
