I Built a Nightmare Factory That Manufactures Perpetual Mayhem - shapez 2

----------

More about shapez 2 (from Steam):

Shapez 2 is a top-down factory-building game where you extract and process geometric shapes. Each shape is its own set of building-blocks that your factories can take apart, stack, paint and put back together in unique ways. Build and automate to produce distinct shapes and solve the production challenge of each goal.

Automate the processing of abstract geometric shapes into more complex ones by cutting, rotating, stacking, painting and more. Deliver distinct shapes to unlock new technologies and expand your factory’s capabilities. Learn, improve, rebuild and solve logistical challenges to design the most efficient shape production lines.

Build in multiple interconnected layers, allowing you to compact and optimize your factories in a whole new dimension. Improve your designs to get the most benefit out of every space platform built and massively increase your production throughput.

Shapez 2 is the purest factory building game imaginable - all buildings are free, resources never run out and there are no enemies or time limits. Prepare for a 100% factory-building experience: effortlessly delete, redesign and rebuild as much as you want, with no penalties, at your own pace.

You’re always in complete control - whether the messy spaghetti belts you built 4 hours ago could use some improvements or a whole circle factory needs to go, Shapez 2 gives you the tools to do it without limitations.

Start your operation from a single asteroid and continuously expand by building new platforms. Unlock new layouts as you progress, and grow from a single belt into a massive multi-station space factory connected by space trains. Design modular blueprintable platforms to build on a massive scale, placing hundreds of buildings with just one click.

Performance is very important to us, and with the complete rewrite of Shapez 2 in a new engine, we're doing our best to make sure that massive factories run smoothly - even with the all-new 3D visuals!

Multi-Layer 3D Factories: Design and optimize your factories in a whole new dimension
Trains: Connect distant stations with a network of space trains
Research System: Unlock buildings, mechanics & upgrades in the all-new tech tree
New Shape Mechanics: Discover new shapes types with unique properties and logic
Game Modes: 4 game modes, including a hexagonal shape mode

Hey Josh - one of the devs here :) thank you so much for playing! I had so much fun watching you - that ending was truly classic 😂. Big milestone for me personally to see one of my fav content-creators play a game I am a part of. Thank you again from me personally and ofc from the whole team behind it! I hope you had fun while playing!❤

Those two conditions you have to check in order for the continue button to pop up sound suspiciously like the devs knew Josh was going to play this game

Snaking a snake of essentially cargo containers across the universe has to be one of the most time wasting things Josh has done. Having to wait for all those belts, then periodically rebuilding those platforms, versus literally just putting down an extra machine or two. Highly respectable.

The universe maybe infinitely big, but Josh's patience and the ungodly hours he spent to destroy games is bigger

I feel like the devs did such good work on the game, that Josh's primary exploit was to frustrate factory game pros as much as possible. The belt limit bug discovery is classic LGIO.

Josh is the living embodiment of those students that will do everything they can to cheat on an assignment, even though cheating takes so much more work then actually doing the assignment. And I respect him fully for it.

I’m beginning to think that game devs give you keys as a form of free (and very thorough) bug testing. If there’s an exploitable bug, you will inevitably find it.

21:54 I already know what Josh is about to do, and I can feel a piece of my soul dying.
23:18 it hurts

Josh dies. He wakes up. People crying. A rollercoaster drives for eternity. A train dissappears in a black hole. Josh: "I am in heaven?" Guy with horns, red skin and hooves: "Ähhh... Kind of?"

Gotta love it when you move so far away from the origin, floating point errors start affecting the rendering, because it can't properly compute the z-depth.

Josh's voice at 23:46 when he finally returns after "So, so, so many hours later..." LOL

Holy crap. Josh really just turned Shapez 2 into the most complicated version of Snake imaginable. 23:42

Honestly this is an ingenious way of handling a huge variety of manufactured things. No need to waste time drawing up logic trees for coal and metal and 58 more random ingredients! There are only two things: shapes, and belts. As it should be. Bless.

I have to say I am amazed of your mental resilience to not just end up giving up on this kind of project. I can`t even imagine how long that must have taken you. At least you had blueprints....would you have done that journey across the galaxy if it didn`t have blueprints? I am afraid the answer may actually be yes and that`s what is just amazing for the kind of dedication you have. Thank you for the sadistic entertainment you provide!

Honestly thanks for covering this gem, Shapez and Shapez 2 deserve all the attention in the world. The dev is actually a saint

Josh completly ignoring the existence of space conveyor belts in favour playing snake is just gold

13:36 Josh "I've been busy setting some stuff up" words that strike fear into all factories
