Well problem is, whatever you think is in style currently, will be out of style sooner than later in an ever shrinking cycle of trends. Pick what you like, and don't worry about what your "friends" will say. I am renovating an 1880's farm house and is amazing the layers of paint, wall coverings on the walls and layers of wood, then linoleum, then more linoleum then press on vinyl squares on the floors.A lot of history and style changes over 140 years.

Chasing trends on something as expensive as floors is a mistake. Go with what you think you'll still like in 15-20 years. If your friends are judgemental, get new friends.

I’ll be putting hardwood floors in as soon as soon as they are waterproof and cost effective

I have three dogs. I have had hardwood floors and they don’t last more than 4 years. I love lVP. The toxic rumor is bullshit. If you have no kids and no dogs go hardwood. If your like me and you have dogs and kids.

Lvp is coming to the forefront dude. What planet you on? Durable, waterproof, economical. I doubt you’re balling out of control to get high end wood, and have it resurfaced every 5 years. Middle class homes perfectly fine. Not a home that’s 650k plus

PVC is only toxic when is burned. So if your house is burning, get out ASAP no matter what your flooring is made of!

I have been saying this for years! Never been a fan of LVT, AND ABSOLUTELY HATE “GRAY” faux wood grain since time begin. You are right on the money, dude.

Doesn’t address the problems with real wood. . .durability and easily damaged and cost 3 to 5x more. This guy makes his money from hardwood.

Buy what you want folks !! At some point, whatever is in style will be outta style in 5 years and then back in style in 10years ! Back and forth, back and forth !

There shouldn't be trends in things that should last 30 years or more. Trends automatically contribute to the disposability of our society.

People buy it not because they don't like real wood is because they can't afford it, so isn't going to die any time soon, actually the bad people from Luxury Vynil Plank land are going to make a lot of more money. Sorry!

Thanks - I am dealing with replacing flooring due to a water leak, and initially thought LVP, simply because my floor is continuous through my kitchen. But I couldn't get over the fact that it LOOKS like plastic, and would have that cool feeling of plastic (not ideal in Canadian winters). I hadn't realized about potential off-gassing. This has cemented my decision - medium brown engineered wood in a 5-6 inch wide plank.

I did multiple lvt 'click' floors ( to my friends/family members/cousins.. ) different tones etc.. and i must say, i love all color tones.. can something be trendy or not.. i really don't care if i like it.. All comes to that to fit the color of the floor with other furniture/lights ( how room/rooms are located and how lights going in that rooms ) .. you can make every single tone/color to work. Grey flooring for example maybe are dead.. because is not trendy.. i really don't care.. i did mine years ago, matched it with everything else in the house.. so to change it because ... oh not trendy? That stupidity what people going for "fashion" is really dumb.. Anyway, if you rich .. do tiles and real wood. if you on the budget.. lvt and be happy.. they all looking nice and most important.. is clean and you feel good to be in that room.. so yup.. just go for it whatever color/tone you choose... and enjoy the life... For every person arround who bitching about how this floors are not environmental friendly.. well none are.. we chop living tree to walk on it.. if you think of.. 🤌
