Why Haven't You Tried These Two Arthritis Supplements Yet?

Boswellia, derived from the Frankincense tree, has powerful pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies show it significantly reduces pain and stiffness and improves joint function. The typical dose is 100-250 mg daily. Turmeric, with its active component curcumin, also shows strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, comparable to NSAIDs but without side effects. A recommended dose is 1000 mg daily. While collagen and omega-3 fatty acids show potential benefits, evidence is less robust. Glucosamine and chondroitin offer modest symptom relief. It's crucial to choose supplements carefully, looking for NSF or USP certified products due to industry inconsistencies. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen.

► Things my patients have found helpful:
I get a lot of questions about what equipment is ‘best’ for treating a variety of conditions. The following is not meant to be an exhaustive or definitive list. If you have questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider. I have personally tried a number of the products below, but not all. I have included some based on positive feedback from my patients. As an Amazon Associate, Dr Peng earns from qualifying purchases. Would you suggest this for hip osteoarthritis?

Boswellia seems to have helped for me. Hard to say because I did a lot of things for my knee stiffness. Chond/Gluc, reducing sugar intake, Omega 3, Turmeric, exercise... That's what I did in addition to Boswellia, and my knee stiffness is gone.

Please speak on the different between type 2 collagen in different forms e.g. undenatured and UC-ii. This seems to affect the results in clinical trials
