For everyone who’s confused: yes, she’s using cape gooseberries or golden berries, which are actually in the tomato family and not related to real gooseberries. Everything in the Ribes family (gooseberries, currants) were banned in the US in the 1900s for carrying blister rust. Although some states now allow cultivation, she could easily live in a state where gooseberries are banned or just aren’t grown.

I think you've used the wrong berries..those look like Cape gooseberries, which despite its name isn't actually a gooseberry! Gooseberries tend to come in green or red, but may not be widely available in the US?

I have only seen green gooseberries and the odd time burgundy. They are so fresh and sour, love them. This looks really good

Those are technically ground cherries. Though they are called Cape Gooseberries they arent actually a Gooseberry.

In my country 🇮🇳, we call it Amla😍 its green here and we make murabba( Candys), achaar (pickle) with it☺ also it's juice is used for long healthy hair and mixed in mehndi(heena) for better color😇

We grow Gooseberry all over are property (there kinda wild) and so we named are cat Goose.

Wow looks good! One thing you might want to do next time is to mix some of the filling in the eggs before you add it to the pot. That will help it not turn to scrambled eggs in your filling. Happy baking!

That is a cousin of the tomatillo. Physalis peruviana, or Ground Cherry, Cape gooseberry etc. Real Gooseberries are in the Ribes family along with Currants. Ground cherries are sweetish, pineapple like with an earthy after taste. Green goosberries are crisp and a bit tart.

I think she meant the other type of gooseberry which we grow commonly in the uk, not Cape gooseberry. But could be wrong!

Omg I love golden berries 😍 I highly advise that you let them soak in vinegar and water for a little bit to get the "slimy-ness" off :)

Imma just say real quick, pie crust is actually really easy to make, its just flour, cold water, oil and a pinch of salt the measurements depend on the size of the pie, just make sure to bake the bottom layer for a few min before adding the filling to make it a bit more secure and hold the pie together a but better. i know some of you may prefer store bought stuff and thats fine everyone likes different things but yea :)
