Meet Molly Chapman, the breakdancer who lost a place at the Olympics to Raygun

She’s breaking the internet.

A breakdancer is going viral on social media after it was revealed she lost out to fellow Australian Rachael “Raygun” Gunn for a spot at the Olympic Games.

Video of Molly Chapman showing off her moves has garnered more than 9 million views since it was posted to X on Tuesday, with many viewers saying she should have been chosen to represent her country instead of Gunn.

Both Chapman and Gunn flew to Belgium last September to compete in the 2023 WDSF World Championships, which served as a qualifying event for this year’s Olympic Games.

Among the 80 entrants, Chapman finished 79th spot and Gunn finished 64th, meaning neither qualified for the Games.

The two Aussies subsequently competed at a second qualifying event — the 2023 WDSF Oceania Championships held in Sydney last October.

There, 10 panelists ultimately chose to send Gunn to the Games.

Who ever let Raygun in needs to be investigated, fined and stripped of any and all authority. What an embarrassment. They even have the audacity to try and defend her when they should be apologizing profusely. No shame what so ever.

The real scandal that Raygun brought to everybody’s attention is that somebody with a PhD in breakdancing, of all the ridiculous things, is getting paid to be a university instructor.

Raygunn and her husband should be investigated for corruption. Her academic titles should be stripped if found guilty, and there's no way there was no corruption in her selection.

It is a shame they didn’t give the chance to a kid who deserves it.
