Did you know that the League of Nations is actually not fully dead. It was replaced by the United Nations after the Second World War, serving a similar purpose, but the League of Nations is still present.

In 1919, the inhabitants of Åland in Finland voted overwhelmingly to join Sweden, with 95% being in favor. Finland, the owner of the islands, decided not to budge and wanted to keep them, so they offered another deal.
