I live in Japan for 25 years and had loads of yakiniku. The first lesson I got was never use your chopsticks to handle raw food onto to grill or food cooking on the grill. They are for taking food off your plate. My kids were pros when they were young and would very often monitor the cooking. I never got food poisoning once. Those raw meat juices soak into the chopsticks and when you move them between other foods and all those sauces, that’s cross contaminating everything, IMO. Also, keep the tongs clean or have 2 separate tongs, 1 for handling uncooked meat and the other for handling cooked meat.

Joel, the length of time the various meats, both fish and farm, stay sitting out in the air before being cooked was a recipe for disaster from the start. Additionally the pork did not look fully cooked. Hope you feel better, and thank God you survived.
