Bobcat scream in woods

These animals come into my yard at night, we just don’t go out after dark. Beautiful animals but they make the most terrifying noise

Growing up in the Appalachian mountains, we heard these screams often. It never fails to scare me.

At my house we hear what we thought was a women or little girl screaming but it was a bob cat it sounded like a horror movie

I legit thought it was a skinwalker when I heard this in the woods lol, I went off the deep end, doing half-baked research, freaked me out

Nature is both equally beautiful as it can be terrifying.

Look, I get home at 1:45AM. I’m downright exhausted so I sit in the truck finishing the scary story I was listening to. I get out, wait for the domelight to turn off, and walk onto the porch. I hear that scream from across the road and hear a huge crash, boy I ain’t never drawn my gun faster on nothing. I run my ass into the house after fumbling with my keys while not taking my eyes off the treeline. I’m sitting here with my gun trained on the door thinking a damn chupcabra or skinwalker is about to koolaid man my front door and start googling trying to mentally comprehend my imminent demise. I decided to go investigate the noise like some dumb ass college kid in a horror film and get to the end of my driveway to see the reflecting eyes and the outline of the absolute biggest cat I’ve ever seen that wasn’t a lion or tiger. Walk slowly backward back to my front door and lock and bolt that mf. So that’s the story of how I ended up here at almost 3 in the morning.

Had to get my cat inside, just had a bobcat calling within 100 yards or so from my back door. Upstate, NY

That is definitely a red fox. I used to hear them on the farm all the time.

I have to say that is one of the most terrifying noises of nature I have ever heard. We have bobcats where I live in the western edge of Appalachia but I’ve never heard their scream.

This is a fox. I hear them all the time in the summer. There’s no doubt in my mind that that’s a fox but could pinpoint a fox from 100 miles away

I was woken up to this noise while camping deep in the woods outside wisconsin dells. It was a good 10ft from my tent, I damn near shit myself 😂

You wanna hear scary, go camping in Germany and be almost asleep when a red deer buck starts trumpeting maybe 50m away. My friend & I were almost ready to start hugging each other like Shaggy & Scooby when the ghost appears LOL

People very nearly shit themselves hearing this in the dead of night yet the bobcats themselves are probably all "Hey Phil! Watch this!".
