Download the Excel file that can get historical stock data with a click of a button.

Works in Excel 2007, Excel, 2010, and Excel 2013.

This nifty Excel file can download historical daily adjusted closing prices for a list of U.S. stock symbols within a specified date range.
The form that comes with the Excel file is very intuitive to use. Just enter a list of stock symbols, enter the start and end dates, select a frequency, and click download. In seconds, your pristine data is automatically downloaded and organized into a new sheet within the file.

Also, just an idea...is there a way to download companies historical sales revenue or EPS. These metrics will be at quarterly level published by companies. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Hi This is a great tool. I am intrested in more than US stocks. Is there any way i can get into the code so as to alter it a little to suite my needs. Not sure what the ethics are in asking such a question

Thanks Yi. I was looking at other excel macros you have. great work man. I was wondering if there is a way to combine all of these macros into one file? ie. having the stock quotes and historical stock prices, etc.

I would like to thank you for your useful excel spreadsheet to get historical stock prices. However, it would be much appreciated if you can develop this in Mac version since I could not use it in the excel in my mac.

Thanks for your efforts! I will give this a try - it looks great. It there a way to populate the data in the "Stock Symbols" window on the Control sheet from cells instead of typing them in there directly?

I am using Excel 2007 and when opening the file I get the following: MS Visual Basic,
Can't exit design mode because control "Control Frame" cannot be created.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Yi, Nice program.  But I need: Hi, Lo, Close  : data for each date   --  to use with my Excel Charts.  Could you either change the program to include the Hi & Lo's,   or write a new program to do that?

It won't let me use the tool. I keep opening it, and it says "To view the unsupported content in the file, you can open the workbook as read-only. However, if you change and then save the workbook, unsupported content will not be saved." And I can't use any of the stuff its just like a picture, i can only read it and move it around.
