Mirror Lake is at its fullest in spring and early summer when Tenaya Creek is flowing strongly with fresh snowmelt. When water is calm, the lake offers beautiful reflections of the surrounding landscape. For the rest of the year, there is often little or no water in the lake. At those times it is often referred to as Mirror Meadow due to the influx of grasses and sandy areas.
