I literally built my bathroom vanity because I couldn't find anything of the style not made of pressboard crap for under $1000. And I love it!

No person ever walked out of Walmart with the feeling of satisfaction and pride that I walked away from a freshly finished project feeling.

I’m just getting into woodworking, but I like what it’s doing for me and my brain. For example, when I’m using table saw, I really have to focus on that, and that aura of concentration and confidence follows me for the rest of the day. Even just sanding gives me joy, because I like how freshly sanded wood feels like. That can’t be achieved with store bought items.

It's not just that you can customize your work, you also know how to alter it, or fix it if it ever breaks. Through the process of building you get to know the materials and methods.

It’s much more fun and satisfying saying “I made it myself” than saying “I got it from IKEA.”

You cannot purchase a sense of accomplishment.

Customising a project is exactly why I build my own furniture. I recently built two bookshelves to fit a particular space and set of purposes.

Steve Ramsey is how I “accidentally” got into woodworking many years ago 🤘🏼

You can't beat the satisfaction and challenge of DIY.

Thank you Steve. You are the bridge between the dreamers and their dream.

I built a book case for my mom. She had something she wanted to put in a drawer but it was too big to fit in anything she had. So I figured out how big the drawer would have to be and used that as the starting point. Most things I've built for her was because like this video said, I can customize it in a way that stores don't build them that way.

He is the reason why I do woodworking now. He's the first one on YouTube that I subscribed to.
God has Blessed me because of Steve.

I was a keen amateur woodworker and turner for years before arthritis put a stop to it. Each year I got better and knew more than the year before.
The comment that always boiled my backside was, "Oh - that's beautiful! You're so LUCKY to be able to do that stuff!"

I literally did the exact same project last year out of poplar...it took me six hours because i dont own a planer...but there is a true sence of pride every time i get some silverware.

Evan and Katelyn have done a little series on 'buy vs diy' and it's always interesting to watch them decide if their diy version had enough quality, was reasonably cost effective, and if the act of creativity brought them joy. Sometimes they vote buy and sometimes they vote diy, but either way they tried to make something (instead of just being a consumer) and improved their craftspeopleship along the way!

Due to life, school, family, and other things getting in the way I had to give up my hobby of woodworking about four or five years ago. I used to watch everyone of your videos because you presented relatively easy projects that were attainable. by most beginner woodworkers with basic tools. Over the years, my woodworking channels have faded away. I have no idea how yours popped up again in my feed, but I'm glad it did. I wish you, your family, and your channel all the best.

I’m so glad you “be spoke” on this today. Now, off to the smelter to fashion me some pewter drawer pulls!

I’ve learned that the people who say “it’s cheaper if you just bought one” also like to say “that’s to expensive, I’ll do it myself”

Steve Ramsey and his projects gave me the confidence to become a woodworker. Thank you Mr. Ramsey

Steve, I respect you. Thank you for making videos. You've inspired me to spend thousands and thousands on tools and learn a new skill that I'm terrible at but I'm working on it. Thank you
