There are two things to consider as well
1. People who don't understand English and watch these average videos made in local languages. They end up learning very little, while the YouTuber makes something after all. This isn't small number. There are people who just have a mobile and if they are passionate about video making and editing. They need Rambo, literally. Someone who could tell me thrive with whatever they have and try to excel from those with these strange gadgets. The mics in the video were cute, really. But then there are people who don't know the benefits of mic and they would think 20 times before buying boya m1. These people have been neglected and are in millions.
2. Free content is great and all and it's okay if advanced features are reserved for the paid version, but the free content videos don't walk you through the necessary. Decide what's going to be free to attract, and then deliver on that by being comprehensive, don't assume that that small "file" option is visible and everyone knows where it is.

Good idea, and if your "income project" is of any relevance to your "passion project" that would be ideal!
For example, your income project is editing for other people, it will help you edit your own videos better
