I loved the first two acts and the saucy, double-entendre laced humour was right up my alley (I grew up with Carry On films). I haven't laughed so much in a movie for years - especially the pet refuge scene. After it shifted to sentimental romcom I found the third act a bit of a chore - but hey, I was so happy to have watched the first two acts that I finished the movie out of respect. Oh yes, and the Maneater piano scene was beautiful, gave me goosebumps, gorgeous reworking of the song, and the way the camera lingered on Jennifer Lawrence's reaction to Percy's playing was sublime.

The platonic ideal of a three star film. All the funniest bits are in the trailers (more fool me for watching them!) but it is still reasonably funny and quite sweet and Lawrence/Feldman are both great. In short, nothing amazing but as far as A-list actresses in R-rated comedies goes, it's miles better than Rough Night

The fact that Mark is so confused about the tonality of the film actually really makes me want to watch this. 👍🏼

Is it just me who was hoping this film to suddenly take an Audition turn where the boy is a psychopath & the film’s comedic tone becomes a dark psychological thriller 🤣 that honestly could’ve made a really interesting film

How many Blade Runner T-shirts does Mark own? I love all of them.

I really enjoyed it, glad I only listen to Mark's reviews afterwards

It's perhaps worth noting that, while the 'joke' in that scene is that Jennifer Lawrence's character is trying to fudge the fact that she's 13 years older than the 19-year old she's being hired to date, Matthew Broderick is 18 years older than Laura Benanti.

Saw this at an early screening, good bit of fun! The best part about it is how much fun Jennifer Lawrence is clearly having in both this role and at this point in her career. She's making a great all-rounder comeback between this and Causeway. She's from the last generation of true moviestars and using her power for good. Obviously it's schlocky and tropey but I think you know exactly what kind of movie it is going into it, and it's healthy for Hollywood to keep these kinds of movies around. Also the scene on the beach had my theatre dying laughing

I enjoyed it, a film not to be taken too seriously if you and a few friends pop to the cinema and want a few laughs and a movie with a decent run time, I'd recommend this.

Contrary to what mark says, i quite enjoyed it. Very easy, quite funny and relaxed rom-com with a bit of heart

Isn't this a pretty similar concept to "failure to launch"?

I pretty much agree with everything Mark said in his review but I did laugh fairly regularly throughout and I guess that's kind of all you need from a comedy.

I do hope someone has written in to disagree this week. I think this is a good film with two central characters both having to face up to their lives. As for the fight on the beach, it is a bit of a shock but does show how the character won't take any thing from the spoilt kids and sticks up for herself come what may.

Having said all of those things which I actually agreed with I still found myself liking the overall film. Can’t put my finger on why but I did

My fiancee and I watched it yesterday in our local Vue. Late afternoon, screen 1 - the largest one - and we were alone in it. We did like it though. It's a raunchy comedy, you don't go in it with high expectations, you knew what you would get from seeing the trailers and personally I thought the funny bits were very funny. Including the naked beach fight. Didn't see that coming. Of course we can't speak for other people as there were none but we did have some very good laughs even though we are quite a bit older than Jen and probably not the primary audience for films like this. It got a bit too soppy for me in the end, my fiancee of course loved the ending.

Honestly I don't care how crude, vulgar, childish a comedy is. If it makes me laugh, it's succeeded and No Hard Feelings is the funniest film I've seen in a cinema for quite some time. Lawrence's reaction to the throat punch is absolutely brilliant comic acting. And as for 'that' fight scene, fair play to her for absolutely going for it

I thought it was excellent. Lawrence was hilarious.
