A description of how to fit a function to experimental data and extract the relevant data points, where the relationship is not-necessarily linear using the Gauss-Newton algorithm.
In this case a Lorentzian line shape is fitted to an experimental data set consisting of 11 data points and 4 fitting parameters are extracted.
