Homes reduced to rubble as deadly tornado tears through Mississippi

At least 23 people were killed and dozens injured as a tornado and strong thunderstorms swept across Mississippi late on 24 March.

Footage shows the aftermath in the town of Rolling Fork after the tornado ripped through homes and businesses. The state's emergency management agency said the tornado left a trail of damage for more than 100 miles (160 km).

I've never understood why they don't build stronger or better designed houses and why they keep planting trees close by. If I lived in a tornado area I'd be living in a bunker. It's heart-breaking to see people's lives and everything they have worked for destroyed like that.
