You cannot forget about the exhaustion that we experience. Not fatigue. The polite French word for tired. It's Zombie-level exhaustion. You must mention that.

I'm 13 and have fibromyalgia, and you've helped me figure it out more than the rest of my family. Thank you.

Thank you! I had a pretty difficult childhood and started having fibromyalgia symptoms at 24. It went into remission until about 50 and now I’m 55. Took me finally going to an orthopedist to realize my new crazy symptoms was fibromyalgia. I’m going to see a new doctor that deals with fibromyalgia next month. It’s scary because I never know how I’ll feel each day (or night). The fatigue is difficult to deal with.

I was fine until I was bitten by a mosquito. I became really ill with meningitis. I almost killed me . I was in a coma for days. The worst part was the headache. Anyway after that had pain all over my body. It was similar to when you have body aches from the flu only way worse. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2010. The pain has ruined my life. I take care of my disabled daughter. This is a very hard job on my body. She is a spastic quadriplegic with severe Cerebral Palsy. My daughter is 34 she fights everything I do try’s to bite, claw and pull my hair. She is honestly a handful and she laughs while she gives me a hard time. I’m only 5 foot tall. I also have osteoarthritis. My knees and finger joints are bone to bone. I pray a lot . I take life one minute at a time.
It’s 12:15 am I can’t sleep my pain is that bad. If it was not for my Faith I probably wouldn’t be here anymore.
My pain is so bad my teeth are falling apart from gritting my teeth.

Saying it is Psychological a person who experiences this condition will tell you that is not true and it is to do with your nervous system absolutely 100% but nobody wants to look into that and find something that will actually care that it is 100% nerve damage

It gives some diagnosis from pain specialists, some say it's the central nervous system, others say that are the mitochondria and insulin resistance.

You mean having a mother who has Narcissistic tendencies while growing up can lead to this? Yup. That's been a factor but so are my genes and other factors. Nature and Nurture. They are both screwed up in my case.

Dr. Furlan said that having adverse childhood experiences is ONE of the factors. Some of us with 'fibro' have them. Some of us don't.

Just one factor.

um...nevermind

Not all persons that suffer from Fibromyalgie had a adverse childhood experience

I just can't like this because the Dr. only named three precursors that may/might happen b4 Fibromyalgia. There are several doctors I've been to, and they didn't realize that individuals with fibro could go into remission. They're not going to treat anyone if the Dr.s can't see it. There are so many theories I have given up in trying to fully understand the syndrome. Because it's not a disease or is it autoimmune.

So are you saying it's not so much physical but mental?

I think this Dr. is perhaps booksmart, but has not actually came to any of this on her own. I cam tell she doesn't actually understand this

I disagree with this lady because it not true, yes women seem to have this condition more than men, but I can sure you my parents didn’t have your scientific idea of Fibromyalgia?!
I can tell you it’s not in the mind as you are saying or a learnt behaviour of a parent ?!
I was hit by a car at 9 years of age and it took me 20 yards on its brakes, and it gave me a broken leg with a large hole in it, also this car had made a hole in my groin area and as I found out much later in life it put my hip out of balance, I couldn’t take much in pain killers back then because I was a child !, I learnt to walk again after a time of healing, I help my self to walk and run instead of limping, and I did a good job of it .
As I got older I had a Thyroid problem and I had been in three car accidents where by I was badly hurt, because I had finish a 12 hour shift in a nursing home on nights, When our car was stationary and was hit from behind and the seat belt save me going forward but the seat fell away at my back causing to fly back wards in the car, needless to say, I have had trauma to my body, as well tiredness that is exhausting !
, my left knee compensated for my right leg over time until I went to see some one about my gait as my doctor of 30 years realise I had a slight limp .
You seem to think it’s in the mind well it isn’t, I have had many X-rays that show a physical issue, and an MRI on my back that reveals a slip disc on the first lumber disc, the 2nd and 3rd are compromised because of the slip disc and 4 appears ok but the 5th has nerve stretch a cross it which causes other issues, I use Mafein patches to help me on a daily bases, but I am fortunate to be able to do reflexology and it has helped me more than doctors because they don’t know any thing about it, and if they do it’s very little in the UK and to try get through on the NHS for some help is a night mare ?!.
You should check out what the American’s know because they see it differently, but I would go to you by what you have said in this short video ??.
I ask for a second opinion and I can tell you I don’t think much of Europe’s think tank on this condition.
I am now 68 years old and I know part of my condition is ( old uncle Arthur ) as a child I new my injuries would cause me trouble later in life, and I wasn’t wrong, because of the accident I need a hip replacement and a knee one two .
I don’t think doctors really care about there patience’s these days because none of us seem to get better, only told to go home and take another pill, !
The second opinion confirm the fibromyalgia but I still think they are wrong and you have no idea, because the learnt behaviour told me that and because you real put it down to a physical logical situation when I clear know I have had a Goitre removed and was run over and stationary in 3 cars on my way home when the cars were hit from behind, !The thyroid as far as I know was a distant uncle who may have the condition and the only other person in the family to have a thyroid condition, Having said that other members had rheumatoid condition?!.
My father had raynard decease, my experience of some doctors are very high, I have kept my self going because I don’t think some doctors care as they use too ?!
