Has the D&D Ceithlenn killed a god? Or maybe another archfey? Let me know your thoughts!

Here is an interesting idea for a fey for idea of the week. I think that the tooth fairy would be an Unseelie Fey spymaster. She would be an arch fey who uses the teeth that she and her army of pixies collect to be able to scry on any mortal that has traded her a tooth for coin or boon. This seals a pact with the “Tooth Fairy.”

Many mortals keep at least one of the coins she gives them for life so that in a time of great need they can rip out one of their own teeth. They create a ritual using the coin, the tooth, and the right incantations to summon the “tooth fairy” or one of her spies.

The mortals who worship her may be asked to gather teeth for her collection or to assassinate those who do not pay her respect. These assassins are given a bag of all the teeth the tooth fairy has gathered from that person over the years that are enchanted to help the assassin track and kill their target. After the kill they leave the bag of teeth as a calling card.

NO WAY!! this is too perfect. i just wrote a Barovia-based adventure for my Feywild game! The fey ingredients were the "this old man" nursery rhyme, a sampling of "black dog" folklore, and Saint Markovia's Thighbone from Barovia. "with a knick-knack paddywhack, give a dog a bone, this old man came rolling home" <|:^)

Beauty can be terrifying...
In the Scottish fairytale of Kate Crackernuts the fae mentioned are described as being more aligned in power to Aoi Sidhe and the ancient deities of the land. In that tale they are described as being so utterly beautiful and alien that they are absolutely horrifying. I love the idea that some fae hit a point that the terror they may induce is because of the uncanny/unsettling nature of their 'dark beauty'. There are multiple versions of Kate Crackernut's story and the prince in the story is manipulated or wooed by the fae's beauty while Kate is repulsed and sometimes frightened. -chef kiss-

Yes! I love these sentences that tie together the adventures but leave us DMs hunting for clues to tie it all together! One interesting sentence that might tie this to Wild Beyond the Witchlight (and specifically "current events" happening to the Summer Court in that module), Sir Talevar went to Prismeer as an emissary of Queen to Titania "to persuade Zybilna to ally with the Seelie Court against it's hated enemies, the fomorians." I very much love the idea of tying Witchlight to the Dread Domains of Ravenloft and this thread has been super important to me for my Feywild>Ravenloft Pepe Silvia corkboard. What if the Fomorians are amassing once more to make a bid for territory in the lands of the Seelie? They've been forced to scrape out survival in the Wildlands of the Unseelie lands for too long. Queen Mab is happy to keep them in their place but has routed their attempts to move into Unseelie territory too many times. Perhaps the Fomorians have a new, charismatic leader among them?

I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been expanding the archfey for the campaign I'm running for my daughters and friends. You have great ideas and make really good videos. Thank you.

An amazing video!! If I remember correctly there was a product in DMs Guild, Shadow Fey, that portrayed this and other two archfey tied with both the domains of dread and the Shadowfell in general!

Just as a major note from the earlier editions with the Ravenloft setting, other than the Domain of Barovia, Hags rarely exist as, well, Hags...

Most end up changing because the hags nature is to be counter to that of the local world...essentially, meaning you end up chaotic good hags with a more, actually, grandmotherly nature there. Perhaps the link and sacrifices to Ceithlenn might be strengthening the nature of Hags, as a whole (considering the nightmare mess with Jenny Greenteeth from the AL Campaign set parallel to Curse of Strahd), inside that domain.
