Elsewhere around the world.
There's been intense violence around Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
More than 4-hundred people were arrested overnight.
As the standoff continues, and global concerns rise, the Chinese central government appointed a new hardline police Commissioner.
For details let's turn to our Kim Bo-kyoung.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Hong Kong's chief executive Carrie Lam said around 6-hundred people have come out of the campus, following her warning where she urged protesters to give up their weapons and come out.
About 4-hundred, who are over the age of 18 were immediately arrested by Hong Kong police. Those under 18 were not taken into custody and Lam promised that they will be handled "in a humanitarian way."
Approximately one-hundred protesters are still inside the university,... where food and medicine are reportedly running out.
In related news, Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong and human rights group Amnesty International have urged Germany to stop providing military training to Chinese troops stationed in Hong Kong.
Based on a report out of Germany, the German military plans to provide senior officer training to 11 Hong Kong-based Chinese soldiers next year.
The United States and the United Kingdom have also expressed deep concern over the unrest.
"Violence by any side is unacceptable. The Hong Kong government bears primary responsibility for bringing calm to Hong Kong."
However, China claimed that British politicians were fanning the flames of turmoil by referring to the demonstrators as "pro-democracy protesters".
"We urge these forces to immediately stop any form of interference in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs and immediately stop condoning violent offences otherwise they will lift the stone only to drop it on their own feet."
Adding to that, the Chinese Central Government has appointed hardliner Chris Tang as the new Commissioner of Police in Hong Kong. In his exclusive interview with the Hong Kong based South China Morning Post,... he criticized the protesters, saying their violent behavior was close to "terrorism",... and added police used force just to "protect themselves, not to suppress the crowd".
Observers say the appointment suggests that Chinese government will handle the unrest strongly.
