About the git folder he deleted, you have to go to your folder and inside it should be the .git folder. Delete it, and then make sure you put the correct route in visual, then just git init again.

git remote rm origin keeps showing up. i typed in "git remote rm origin" & "git remote remove origin" and nothing is working. not sure what to do now

git push -u origin 'main' worked for me, whereas 'master' did not.
