The problem with UBI is that it has to be enough in order to sustain a human being and keep a roof over his her head and still have some money to save up. I think the UBi should be set at 3k per month for jobs that have robotic substitution.

Coming from a person in the global south where people talk about AI very surface level but no actual materiality this has really really really opened my eyes not only about the scale of things being done but also the disillusionment of people like these and also how fast the tech inequality is broadening

Basically we have room for about 20billion people with the current system (assuming logistics is 100% and waste is none). Meanwhile we already struggle to have enough jobs for everyone, and this is before automation is fully established. Basically this round of automation will take roughly 75-80% of the jobs, including putting in the jobs that create. And there will be another round of automation later when tech get along further. That's an estimate that many peolple will quarrel with, but its more of a fact than an opinion. It will happen, so the issue is that most people won't have a job and the rest only have part time jobs.

AI and robots need to be nationalized. Once the bots start fixing the bots, it will set us free. But there's far too many central power interests who don't want it to happen.

This is so solvable. Cut the welfare and make it so that the people on welfare aren't living as well as the working class. There are millions of able bodies on generational welfare eating steak and lobster. Why would they work? Welfare should be for elderly and disabled only on a full time status. Others can get temporary welfare for hardships and should be limited to the staples of life (rice, beans, potatoes, milk, etc).
