People ignore that leeds team came up from 2nd division back then and won the 1st division, amazing back then, as teams did not spend fortunes, only man utd were mega spenders back then, and getting nowhere.

Even though i have no interest in leeds, i loved that elland road was a proper home stadium, a place where it was not nice for a team to goto, and if the home fans got buzzing, the leeds team just played. They could just out of nowhere be all over your team, with the fan noise going absolutely crazy.

Those days are gone, but fair play to the leeds fans, for the stadium they had back then, and it was no small feat to win the league that year after being promoted.

That "Evening Post" home strip - a kit to die for. Now that's our real identity. The designers of our recent kits should learn from this. They've taken away the blue and put on black numbers.
