Poseidon Engine Room Explode

As the Poseidon's ballasts continue to fill, it starts to cause unstabilization, which then causes the engine room to explode

The rear deck exploding was because the ship was trying to equalize the pressure on the stern since it was sinking by the bow!

A hell of a lot more than needed to cause that explosion. The USS Arizona is still leaking oil 70 years later, and it was a fraction of the size of an ocean liner about the size of Poseidon.

I've always been wondering why the electric power lasted so long. I mean, besides from all the flooding, but even during and after that engine room which is basically the heart of the ships power exploded, the lights are still burning.

But the one thing that blows my mind is how only 5-7 explosions coming out of the stern deck blows the stern out of the water.
