Professor Irving Finkel is not just a top geezer to go down the pub with he's also Assistant Keeper of Ancient Mesopotamian script, and possibly the British Museum's best kept secret! Anyone who lectures or teaches for a living should take a moment to study how a professor of Ancient Mesopotamian script (Boring!) at the British Museum (Boring!) leaves his audience informed, sore from laughing and thoroughly and suitably impressed with what they've just learnt. Now, I'm only half way through the presentation but I'll bet at the end this fine gentleman receives a tremendous round of applause from those lucky enough to be in the room. Well done Professor Finkel sir.

He seems to state that both the Biblical flood and the Gilgamesh flood are myths. He points to the Bible as the text which tells about the Noah myth. But later he turns to the BIble again as evidence that the Babyloniyians taught the Hebrews their language and stories (in the book of Daniel). How can one part of the book be said to be myth and another part been seen as pure historical fact? Can you have your cake and eat it too?

Looks lost for word and embarrassed when asked about Enuma Elish or the Ark of Creation. How come he didn't mention this? He also tried to make the gentleman who was asking the question look an idiot. Not impressed. Also trying to state the ancient technology was wrong when building the boat should have been the biggest joke. I suppose the pyramids couldn't have built either. Maybe those plans would have been wrong too !!

I don't think this guy understands the concept of a mic, it's not a baton that makes your thoughts louder. You have to actually hold it up to your mouth or put it in the mic stand.

In no way was the ark round. Just because THAT was the boat making 'style' of those people who wrote these tablets does not make it the way Noah built the ark God told him to build! It's like ... just because the Sumerians had the first KNOWN writings that doesn't mean that THEY had everything RIGHT! The Hebrews passed down their 'history' for generations before they learned to write and that time only begun with Moses. So the stories were already out there for "others" to copy AND ... put in what they wanted! IN OTHER WORDS ... anything that goes counter to the Bible's accounts are merely 'copies' of what actually happened. Why do I believe this? Because the Bible speaks! It tells God's story of history more accurate than what "man" tries to do by their way of comparisons to figuring out the things archeologist will argue for many more years to come!
