In this video we take a look at the FNIRSI 1014D 2 Ch 100MHz Oscilloscope.
This low-cost bench oscilloscope has a built-in function generator and is powered by a 5V USB wall charger.

HEY YOU ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING STUPID:
One of the symptoms is that is causes fluid retention, mostly in the hands, feet/ankles, and face.
It will kill me one day. I'm doing ok right now, but someday...

I got my 1014D two days ago and have used your video to "walk thru" the paces, had it connected to three other scopes on a common feed off a Uni-T UTG962E Signal generator, you are RIGHT, this little unit is GREAT and tack sharp and faster drawing and cleaner than scopes costing four times more, just as sharp as my 12 bit OWAN....and faster drawing and locking on. Much more intuitive controls, I owe you a nice lunch and a cold drink, you steer me right on this adventure. Cheap enough that I can treat a friend to a unit. Thanks.

Definitely a winner on price/performance and I like the uncluttered front. But one thing I don't like about wall-wart powered scopes is the loss of line triggering. That's always been the fastest way to see if the wiggles on the screen are line related.

That IS incredible value for money just as a stand-alone scope, but with the other features it is OUTSTANDING.
The mains ground isolation feature is worth the cost of the scope alone. TAKE MY MONEY!

Neat little machine. Might be a fun mod to hide a power bank inside and use a simple current steering circuit to connect it. In any case, a pretty respectable scope for students and folks just getting started on electronics.

FEEDBACK 1: Please FNIRSI, stop hiding the base-line noise floor. Every time the signal get below 32 mVpp it is swapped by a fake flat line. Please FNIRSI, change this in a firmware update.
FEEDBACK 2: I hope that in a future firmware update the vertical Sensitivity could be reduced from 50mV/div (the current base-line noise floor appears to be low enough).

vertical sensitivity is limited to 50 mV minimum not 5!! I think their tablets also have this limitation. might be important

That is an industry breaking product, at least for the hobbiest market. At this price, feature set, and portability, its really going to make getting a scope a much easier wish to fulfill for a lot of people.
Of course, build quality and longevity are unknowns, so who knows?
Wonder if these are going to go out of stock shortly and then be unavailable during the chip shortage. We'll probably see once you do the teardown. I've been delaying getting the Hantek et al, however this looks simple and cheap enough for my needs. Thanks for the great video!

Thanks for the review and showing the USB power supply at the end making it portable!!

Specs show scope has a built in DDS sig generator, this might be usable as probe calibrate function. But where is external trigger input?

Is it just me, or did they want to make the brand look like Rigol? The font and yellow background looks very much like a Rigol oscilloscope.

Not a bad looking scope. I really like the idea of having a function generator built in to the oscilloscope.

I just ordered one along with a 0-60V 0-5A PSU. Can't wait to receive them!

You can adjust the 10X probe using the built in signal generator. Just stick the probe tip into the output of the generator.

Looks like a greater 'Starter' scope with a handy extra gen function. A chance to find out if you really need a scope with out paying big bucks. I have found sometimes the Sine wave functions goes higher than the other functions - is this the same ?

Could you show us how to calibrate the probes on this one?

Do you know if the probes are differential probes because its using isolated power that isnt referenced to that ground?

I still have one question, does „save wafe“ mean i can save part of a digital signal for instance?

Yeah, it does offer a lot for a low price and it runs on 5v and it's portable. If I was starting out I giver her a try. Thanks, Paul.

The signal wave form of red probe connector is yellow why on the oscilloscope the connecter marked with red color, I think they just made something never checked for quality and the frequency is 90mhz not 100mhz in oscilloscopes if designed for 100mhz you can go to about 120mhz still working, but this is only 90mhz oscilloscope and does not work above 90mhz, about durability I am not sure yet.

Is it possible to measure the current through this device??
