The Liam Lawson Disaster

Liam Lawson has had a disastrous start to the 2025 Formula 1 season after being promoted to Red Bull. Being Max Verstappen's teammate has never been an easy challenge, but is this more than just a curse? With the Red Bull so clearly set up to Max Verstappen's driving style preferences, is there anything a driver can do to be fast in the second Red Bull seat? With so many past drivers dropped by the team, is Liam Lawson simply fighting a losing battle where his demotion is imminent?

Yuki not getting the Red Bull seat just might be a blessing in disguise. It makes more sense for him to go to Aston Martin instead since they will be powered by Honda from next year

As Albon once put it, Max's setup is apparently like "Playing Call Of Duty but with the sensitivity turned up to MAX"

sergio was not a colossal failure like the others ! he helped Max win his 1st WC, finished 2nd in 2023, and was ok for the 1st few races last year ... but the car became very difficult to drive and only Max could have pulled it off.. RB were impulsive and literally blamed Sergio for losing the constructors .. and it's clearly evident what a mistake they made ... i really hope Yuki does not get that seat for his own benefit as he will have better long term options in 2026.

I think Sergio deserves a lot more credit for his time at red bull.

On the flipside, you can't deny that Liam is showing consistency 🤔

Liam lawson himself said he doesn't like saying a car is better for someone else's "driving style" because if you are driver in f1 you should be good enough to be able to adapt

so because of that i think Perez didnt deserve this much hate

Red Bull is not necessarily built around Max. It is more about Max having the skill to push and drive unstable cars and RB getting false confirmation about car development from their main driver—Max winning with this car, so it must be good. You can see the cluelessness in the RB leadership because why else would you compromise the viability of the second seat.

I dislike it that people say "Checo failed". He lasted 4 seasons and helped with the championships. He was way better than Gasly and Albon

It saddens me that Checo is not part of the circus anymore, but I'm so glad that we got to see that Checo was never the problem

I remember when he was mocking Perez last year on track and tought he is invincible. But now after two races he is last!

The amount of people trashing Sergio Perez for two years was when I noticed. Effing Sergio Perez. They guy was a king.

Do you really consider Checo finishing 2nd and 3rd in the Drivers' Championship a failure with this 'untamable' car? Wow.

They day Max leaves that team, they are going to be a midfield team. Imagine having designed the car in one specific direction for 7/8 years. Will take serious unlearning by the engineers.

Another thing, I have no sympathy for Lawson given how he talks about the other rb drivers. The dance floor is his now

I'd say give Liam time, but the problem is, that he shouldn't even have been promoted, he has potential to be a very solid driver, should've promoted Tsunoda like 99, 9% of people said or even better - Redbull should've signed Sainz, because all of the front running (except Mercedes, but Antonelli is a generational talent) teams have relatively equal drivers

Perez was never the issue. That hate they gave him was horrible. Perez was in a Red Bull for 4 YEARS. He as been a great driver since 2021, 2022, 2023. But 2024 not good at all. (Checo fan btw) but one bad season shouldn’t ruined their career. He is literally one of the best midfielders of all time. but I hate people realize now that it is always been the car. When it was so clear since Albon. Checo was literally the one who actually did something in the history of redbull. Wished that he at least finished his contract.

This video forgets that checo had three good seasons in that second red bull car.

Sergio held it togsther for a while. People now are like he couldnt get grips with the car
Yet he won races and helped max win his first drives championship. But because of how it ended everyone looks at checo in a bad light.

I don’t think it’s fair for Sergio Perez to say that he was in the cursed seat and didn’t live up to the expectations. He was in that seat for four years, finishing the championship P2, P3 & P4. How is that not fulfilling expectations?

Checo did ok for the first 3 years with RB
