There are 650 US cities and towns named after English cities that should tell you something about where the settlers came from.

I’m 62% Scandinavian, 28% English/Irish, and 10% German. Pretty typical for America.

Irish Americans embrace and are proud of their Irish heritage. You rarely hear English Americans talking with pride about the motherland.

Why don't we call them European Americans.

How do you think your capital city got its name and the likes of New York, Boston, New Hampshire etc. The original places are in England.

I'm not white as intended by americans. I'm from south Italy living in the north and I love my slightly tanned skin as well as greek-like facial features. Nowadays Italian is "cool" but sincerely I didn't forget how my ancestors were treated in the US.

Greeks were the latest Europeans to immigrate to the United States in the 1880s. 🇺🇲🇬🇷

Lot of German and Irish descendants here in my area. A town down the road from me is called Oldenburg

Seems like none of them say they have English ancestry though. They all claim to be Italian or Irish because they had one great grandparent who was 😆

My grandparents came from Europe, LEGALLY through Ellis Island. My parents were born here, I was born here, my kid was born here. Im AMERICAN! I don't need to qualify that with another origin! End racism by accepting that we are all AMERICANS. Not (qualifier)-American. Enough already!

My ancestors came from all over Europe -- English, Scottish, Irish, German, French, Sicilian, and Finnish. My dad's English ancestors have been here since the Pilgrims. My mother's maternal grandparents immigrated from Finland, and her father's grandparents came from Germany and Sicily.

Yeah but no but yeah but what about 300, 000 years ago.
You know, before countries were invented.
Before nationalities were invented.
