Whenever a new Pokémon game comes out, and the hardcore Pokéfanatics inevitably find some fault in it, one often hears the same resounding cry: how could Game Freak do this to us? To which someone always replies, well... actually, Pokémon is owned jointly by three different companies, so it isn't just Game Freak's fault!

The conversation then gets muddy, and confusing, with accusations thrown around left and right! But the truth of the matter is not so simple. Who really owns and runs Pokémon? And is the system of ownership and operation as equitable as it appears to be on the surface? Why is it even organized in this way?

Let's find out together, in what could be Moon Channel's most deranged video yet! I haven't slept in three days!

Correction -- Itoi actually WANTED to make Monopoly SNES. He's a HUGE fan of Monopoly!!! He's President of the Japan Monopoly Association, he's played Monopoly competitively... The game was obviously a pretty personal project for him. There are trans characters, there's an RPG town to explore... there's a lot going on that obviously fits into his interests at the time! I personally think it's an important stepping stone between Earthbound games.
