The future you describe in the video would be total hell for me.
I like having my space, and I don't enjoy being in densely populated areas.
I also enjoy physically seeing my family regularly; and I don't care for Skype or Facetime.
I also enjoy the actual feeling and the smells of nature; and virtual reality could never replace that.
And most of all: I enjoy being married to my wife and having my son and having a home and not just a house.

After I got out of the military in 1972 I spent about a year on my motorcycle traveling from Alaska to Panama. Then in 1974 I went to work on a large wooden sailboat in the Caribbean. Then I ended up prospecting for gold in New Mexico. Then in 1977 I got married and went to work for Missouri pacific railroad. Now I am happier than ever on my large farm in Northern Arkansas. Now at 69 all I want is to sit on my Front porch drink ice tea watch the livestock down in the field and work in my Garden.

The individual is easier to overcome than a group. The family structure is the very foundation of our species.

Wow, CP! I've been following your videos for a long time, and this is the best ever!
I was living the "Van Life" from the mid-1970's until 2006, when I unexpectedly inherited an old house. I am the product of an extremely dysfunctional fatherless family whose dysfunction goes back generations. My childhood was basically a slow-motion train wreck. Almost nobody in my family could even hold a marriage together, even with small children present.
I was a hobo during what was supposed to be the most productive years of my life. Never married, never fathered any children (that I know of), never held down a steady job, and basically never had any "skin in the game."
Even though sometimes I didn't know where my next meal was coming from, I've never even considered committing a felony, lying to or conning anybody, simply because I know what it's like to be a crime victim, and I would never dream of inflicting that pain on anyone else.
That all being said, as a person with a rootless life behind me, this latest video rang all kinds of alarm bells with me. The generation you depicted will have the emptiest, most futile lives ever experienced in human history if things continue on this course.
The only answer is Revolution. But will these young people see it that way?

I think the tiny house trend was to get people used to the idea of the pack and stack apartments that are popping up everywhere, complete with all the smart home technology so everything you say and do can be closely monitored 24/7. People who are crammed into small spaces are easier to control.

I've been pretty nomadic since I graduated high school. Now that I'm in my 40's, I'm tired of it. My husband's Aunt and uncle decided to sell everything and do the snowbird thing when they retired. They were fine until she broke her hip. A home base is important and should always be available.

I'm a cross country trucker so I already live like this. I can get my mail sent to a company terminal or the a UPS store. I'm actually looking to quit to live on a boat soon.

Since my husband died I have become nomadic. No car, a backpack and a tent and a stay here and there while I forage and make natural remedies and show others how. I'm fine but the system is broken.

“Future”?
I thought it was Armageddon...

People keep saying 'Armageddon' will happen..well, it is already is happening, and so many just sit blinkered and complaining, but doing nothing. I grew up in the forces, and married into the force, worked for the MOD, so every 2/3 yrs we moved. I have been in my current place 10yrs, the longest I've lived anywhere, and accumulated a ton of sh#t that I rarely use, no longer makes me happy, but bought to 'fit in'. I truly want, and will, get rid, donate, sell my stuff, and unburden my soul now my children have flown the nest. Edit: this video really resonated, I felt it spoke to me in ways I can't explain.

About time to bug out and watch this mess crash from a safe distance.

Rent is not a modern concept, it's as old as time. Royal families used to own everything, and you "rented" whatever land you had.

People are realizing this future is not what they want, hence their back to the land movements, which are growing. Including self-sufficiency in Suburbia. And the growth of the preper movement.

The idea that people will become all mobile won't work, because some-one needs to stay in place to create the infrastructure to allow mobility. Who will build the roads? Who will fix the Car's or vehicles? Who will fix the AI robots that may perform these supposed functions?

People will rebel, they already are. They will turn back to religion eventually as well. Read Biting the Sun by Tanith Lee. Humans can't escape their desire for meaning.

Doesn't sound like any future at all to me. Human beings are not meant to operate in this manner. We are meant to have meaningful relationships. And have physical contact.

I have a 10x16 shed.. all I need here is food, communications, and a warm bead. I go through the day checking my food, and power. Take care my bum bucket, and trash. A true cycle. Tks.

People don’t buy houses or rent their own because they’re a waste of money and nobody young has it. I’m in my early 20’s so maybe I’m old now but what I see is people my age ignoring what society says so they can be happy and not slaves to society. When you see your parents still paying of debt from their 20’s you’re not too thrilled to follow those footsteps.

At least people living in vans and RVs are outside enjoying their lives. There is a problem with judgmental people who point fingers. If people are happy and not destroying other people's lives why judge their lifestyles? I grew up on 72 acres, loved it. Had to move to the city and am renting in a low class neighborhood I can afford. For a short period of time my boyfriend was a truck driver, best days of my life. If money wasn't an issue I would love to travel. Beats sitting behind four walls hoping my neighbors behave.

Even staying in nice hotels there comes a time when I just want to go home. Just traveling around all the time would be very stressful for me.

I watch this channel now and then to catch any homesteading talk. We live off the grid, as self sufficiently as possible, in a permanent tiny house. People can romanticize as much as theyd like. We see people come into this world and go right back out of it on a regular basis. Not many can handle it, and even fewer would choose it if there was a more modern option.

I have seen videos of those "pods" in places like Hong Kong. What a horrible way to live. It also showed families living in 100 sq. ft. or less. Scary.
