Planet to planet jump - Galaxia Procedural Universe

Just because some guy on reddit didn't believe me when I said the engine I build in my spare time could do planet to planet jumping like in Star Citizen.....

Amazing dude. I am just curious about one thing. How do you manage the display of starfield? I mean when you zoom in on the galaxy, how do you deal with what stars to display, how do you display it (many billboards objects?) ? Do you only display stars that are near enough? Or do you display also far away stars that are very bright? How do you do it? How do you manage stars that are far and look "fixed" and star taht have a "parallax" behaviour because you pass near them... I am very curious about the technical side of your work and I would love to read more about all of this!
