Reason why Mars and Venus look like earth in the past : They used to be habitable but mars lost its atmosphere then in 3.6 billion years it went from habitable to uninhabitable and for Venus the runaway greenhouse effect which was caused by volcanic activity and loss of water from Venus atmosphere.
