in fingerprints, what kind of pattern each finger has

Does it have to be done with CNN or not? How

I want to do realtime binary image classification on edge device like smartphone or raspberry pi: the object of interest is in the image (fully or partially) or it is not. I am Not interested in exact location of object in the image. Yolo can do classification but are there other models better suited?
