If you have AC at your home you can use a coffee filter, shape it like a funnel and place it at the top of an empty water bottle and catch the dripping water from your AC drain pipe and you have all the free distilled water you can ever need for your batteries.

You are right lots of people don't do their maintence then can't figure out why the batteries are dead. You might mention that it is a good thing to take pictures of your cables before you remove the batteries so you can get them back in the right place. No sparks and arcing is a good thing.

What Todd stated is correct and exactly how I maintain all of my batteries. I installed an irrigation system on my 4 coach batteries and 4 golf cart ones as well. Top them off with distilled water monthly and keep them on a maintainer/charger. They will last for years if you take care of them!!
Thanks as always Todd 👍👌

I store my truck camper in storage. Usually around 5 months during winter. Should I remove my 2 batteries and bring them home. Maybe trickle charge them in the garage once a week for 24 hours just to maintain them.??

Do you have to do this is your battery and rv is always plugged in all the time? How long do these batteries last if it's plugged in all the time for full time living?

I opened my battery case to inspect battery and it was full of water. Since freezing temps are around the corner I opted to drill holes in the case, not the battery, so it would drain. The little vents in the lid allow rain in so that should be addressed. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for this info. I knew nothing. I am getting ready for a trip and heard something in compartment. When I opened, one battery was hot and sounded like it was boiling, and the other cool. I checked the water and filled all the cells (put too much water in). It does not seem to be cooling fast. I am hoping it will not cause a fire.

turkey baster! thanks! A funnel wasn't doing it for me at all. And I also need to use a mirror on a stick because sticking my phone in the battery compartment and snapping a photo wasn't showing me anything useful.

Do we need to keep our batteries connected to the charger 24/7 while they are out of our RV? Or do we charge it and then disconnected for a week and charge it again? I had my 24/7 to a 4 amp charger that say it will maintain as well, but I started to smell something, call the store I bought the charger and they say to disconnect and charger for a day once a week. How is the correct way of doing it. Thanks for all of your videos they are great way to learn. I’m new at all this

Thank you so much - clear, you simply mention "use a flathead screwdriver to pop of the cell caps", but I would have loved to have seen you do that! I am a complete newbie to this, and the assumption that I know how to simply "pop them off" is not accurate. Help!

Do you need to disconnect the batteries in order to check the fluid levels?

Do they even make batteries you add water to anymore? Seems like every battery I've bought in at least ten or fifteen years has been sealed.

Left out if you leave them connected or if you unconnect them before filling

Can I use a small solar panel connected to power point like a cigarette lighter to keep the batteries up?

Will a trickle charger bring a battery, say 70% to100%?

Two things, never charge a battery on concrete surface and always charge in a well ventilated area.
