In Stockholm, the Grand Hôtel has been home to celebrities, high-profile events, and everyday bon-vivants since 1874. French chef Régis Cadier took the initiative and founded the first Swedish hotel to live up to the renowned continental-style hotels around Europe. Not only is the Cadier Bar named after him, but his memory lives on in the first-class guest services and love for glamorous events at the hotel.

From its frescoed ceilings to its breathtaking waterfront views across the Old Town and Royal Palace, the Grand Hôtel Stockholm has delighted guests since 1874. Surrounded by elegance, many sumptuous public rooms have become designated Swedish National Treasures. Guests can enjoy the individually designed bedrooms along with complimentary high-speed Internet and access to the award-winning Nordic Spa & Fitness. Staff can help arrange experiences tailor-made to your needs. Dining is raised to new heights by Chef Mathias Dahlgren, with his Michelin-star Matbaren (The Food Bar) and Rutabaga.

Dining - Mathias Dahlgren Matbaren is already legendary with his Guide Michelin star, and now he also opens the Lacto-ovo vegetarian restaurant Rutabaga. On Veranda, you can celebrate everything from Easter and Midsummer to Christmas and New Year in a classic Swedish way. Mathias Dahlgren - For a gastronomic experience for those interested in exclusive simplicity in a comfortable environment with a friendly atmosphere. A restaurant visit in time. The philosophy: With a Swedish identity on a regional platform, I create my kitchen. A kitchen that is open to both local and global ingredients and influences. A kitchen based on natural ingredients and natural taste - the natural cuisine.

The Cadier bar attracts champagne-thirsty Stockholmers and cocktail-hungry hotel guests every night. In short: Some of Stockholm's best restaurants and bartenders are in the house. This is also evident in the room service. In the Cadier Bar, everyone finds homes, Stockholmers as hotel guests. The grand bar houses after-work parties, informal meetings, and party evenings bubbling with champagne and exciting drinks. Feel free to try the bartenders. They are some of Sweden's best. If you get hungry, take a look at the bar menu. There is also an à la carte breakfast, lunch, and Afternoon Tea for those who find it difficult to tear themselves away from the comfortable sofas. The bar is named after Régis Cadier, French chef and founder of the hotel.

The Veranda Restaurant - 100 years ago, the first summer terraces were built here at the hotel. Since then, Veranda has been an obvious meeting place for both Stockholmers and visiting tourists. Come here for a hearty breakfast, lunch, or dinner overlooking the water and the castle. Or book a table for the delicious buffets and classic sandwich tables, served with the hotel's own snaps Grand Aquavit 1874.

Nordic Spa & Fitness - Making the day perfect. Enjoy a classic Swedish massage, get a beauty treatment, be challenged by personal trainers, visit the doctor of Chinese medicine, or stretch out the chiropractor's body. Nordic Spa & Fitness has a hand-picked team of therapists, trainers, and specialists waiting to be helped. What does the Nordic stand for? First and foremost, thinking of a healthy life, proximity to nature, and a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. These thoughts are behind the spa, the granite from Grythyttan, the limestone from Gotland, and the refreshing contrast between the cold outside and the heat indoors.

The proximity to the water, the islands, and the islets have inspired a spa beyond the ordinary. Relax with a sauna and wake to life with a cold dip, just like in the archipelago. Feel the peace in the beautiful, late summer pool. Make the gym an energizing and strengthening break in everyday life. Take a treatment that calms down or one that spikes up, depending on the day's shape.

I hear that the Cadier bar is under renovation. I had ice cream (rather delicious) and drinks there, but it felt like a huge train station, an elegant waiting room at a grand train station, but a station all the same. Could the designers make a point of turning it into something cosier, a bit more intimate ? Thanks.
