On Sunday the 25th of March 2012, Edd Gould passed away after a six-year-long battle with cancer.

He will be greatly missed.

A year later and I find myself still coming back to this video in his memory, I don’t think it can be understated how much this channel and his content impacted me. We miss you Edd but we all know that you’re in a better place having Cola and drawing Cartoons with Friends and Family.

Revisiting this once again. Ever since I first seen this video and still to this day. I was 8 when Edd passed away. I'm currently 19 now. Edd had been my biggest inspiration for art, animation, story telling and being someone to follow since day one. The unique and weird attitude carried throughout his stories allowed me to create my own unique and weird attitude that I live with. Everyday I thank Edd for being able to give me such a wonderful way to see the world. His creativeness sparked mine. Throughout all my comics and doodles, I am near finished with my first story and I can only thank Edd for being not only mine, but many inspirations throughout the years. He may be gone, but his world will keep on spinning.

Today, March 25, 2024, marks 12 years after our edd... it hurts me, I never met him, my frustrated dream is to have met him, he has been my idol for years, so many people like me who have inspired and will inspire... no I have words to describe his entire legacy, but I can say that it is painful and at the same time beautiful; painful because he left so young and beautiful because his friends still continue with their series... Matt, Tom and company, simply thank you, thank you for letting his world continue spinning after he left... This day is painful because who took away a wonderful person from his family, his friends and the entire internet, but we should remember that boy who followed his passion of making animations for the internet that entertain other people. Well this is a bible but, wherever you are, thank you Edd, simply thank you, because of you I continue drawing and if I had not come across your content, I would have simply stopped, but he let me know that he had to continue. I love you Edd and I hope you are well where you are with a can of Coca Cola by your side.💚

I remember when I first got the news. I was in 7th grade, and had just come home from school. I set my backpack down, grabbed a glass of water, and sat at the computer, hoping to see that eddsworld had posted a new video. I logged in, and my Facebook feed was still up from the previous night. At the top of my feed was Tom’s video. I couldn’t go to school the next day, I was crying so much. I begged god to bring him back, because he was the person most responsible for most of the happiness in my life at the time. But, I came to realize, it was his time to go. I will never forget you, Edd. Thanks for making me the person I am today.
