HUGE Harry Potter TV Show update

The Harry Potter TV Show has been getting lots of updates lately - here's six big pieces of information they released about the show, and my reaction to it.

People who see the depiction of goblins as a source of insensitivity are the problem.

Goblins have always had this depiction in mythology.

They aren’t a caricature of a group of people, YOU are being insensitive and stereotyping an entire community of people.

The depiction of a fictional race isn’t insensitive to anyone. Quit being offended for others!

Seamus Finnigan is not an Irish stereotype in the books. If he is one, it is in the movies, because they added scenes that are not in the book and made him much more of a stereotype.

I still feel like if your think of the goblins if this show and immediately think its a representation of of JK Rowling views Jewish people that is racist. I have many Jewish friends who are always confused when people make comments like that.

peeves is gonna give hogwarts more atmosphere, I hope theres other ghosts roaming hogwarts in long shots. The hogwarts atmosphere is something the series could do so much more with than the films

Peaves doesn't add to the story, but it does add to the wizarding vibe and it is the small additions that add up.
I think that they should make 100% unique sets, but business wise it makes sence to maintain the older sets.
They should approach it by trying to forget the films as much as possible, when making the show.

I will say this again: Now that all books are finished, not all book scenes should be filmed sequentially. For example, back flashes of Snape's memories to meeting Lily and James should allow James, —who looks like Harry—to be portrayed in the first year by the same actor who plays Harry—while filming Philosopher's stone.

This non-linear production can really create a more unified, cohesive production.

I’ve been outlining the seasons as I reread the books, and I’ve got every season coming out at about 11 episodes of 45-60 minutes, which may feel like a lot for early books but to me seems ideal just for making each episode feel like a complete piece of the story

I'm sorry, but what stereotypes are being put on Seamus and Cho? Maybe I just don't know a lot about Irish stereotypes to see any in Seamus, except maybe the name, and Cho is also only the name. She doesn't do anything I can think of as stereotypical, if we are talking race. Apart from the name having an Asian sound to it she's not even described in the books as anything but a pretty girl.

excited for peeves. Hoping to get Winky, but MOSTLY theyd BETTER put the beasts in the maze in GoF!!! That was my biggest dissapointment with the movies. That and the battle in the department of mysteries in OOTP.

Having Peeves in the show adds to the whimsical feeling of HP and Hogwarts. Yeah, he doesn't really add anything story wise, but since I hope they take the show in that direction I appreciate it.

I feel like Peeves changes the tone of the show if you have peeves it can't be so dark and broody. These books are supposed to be full of absurdity and fun and if you take out those elements then you get the gray scale movies 3-7.5 and they aren't fun like ought to be to balance out the darker themes.

Kind of annoyed they are redoing the Harry story like this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do James and Lily’s story and the first wizarding war bridging fantastic beasts to Harry

I’d say Peeve is important for showing that Hogwarts is a magical castle… him as well as the other ghosts
After the first 3 movies Hogwarts really just feels like a lifeless castle
