Is Zooble Non Binary? The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 3 Explained

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?

One character that got alot of development during episode 3 was zooble. This has led to alot of questions in the fandom. I’ll try my best to answer them.

So during episode 3 at the start jax talks about what happens when each character holds their breath. He says that zooble turns straight, she swears at him and says that her limbs turn straight.

A little later during the therapy session, zooble explains that she doesn’t like her body or her removable parts. Caine explains that she can just swap the parts out with ones she does like. But zooble says she has been trying to find parts she likes since the day she got there.

Alot of fans were confused by these scenes. So what exactly is zooble? According to gooseworx herself, zooble uses any pronouns and also doesn’t know what they are. So zooble can be referred to as genderqueer or non binary. Goose also made a drawing of jax tallying the characters up based on gender, with zooble getting her own box, again reiterating that she’s unsure of her gender.

Caine tries his best to understand zooble, but since he’s a binary ai he struggles to understand a non binary character.

Btw Zooble goes by all pronouns, not just only they/them. Gooseworx already said that herself. So you can call her she/her if you want to and don't listen to the people that say she only goes by they/them.

I think Caine also said and uses "them" when referring to Zooble, and I find Zooble as non-binary, or just Zooble.

Caine doesnt have problems processing Zooble's identity
He has problems processing Gender Disphoria/Body Dismorphia wich are human conditions

"Not straight" and non-binary aren't the same thing, they tend to go together, but it's a notable difference

As someone who also struggles with their gender identity and doesn't know what they are either, it makes me really really happy to see a character like that finally being represented in media, especially in something so popular.

As a trans person I love the way that they showed zooble's gender dysphoria during the episode. Caine represents the people who are like "here you can have these different clothes, hairstyles, etc. why aren't you happy?? You need to just be happy with this." which does help some but it will never fully make us not feel dysphoric because we still don't feel comfortable in our own bodies

That line abt Caine not getting Zooble bc he’s a binary AI struck me as funny for some reason

As a non-binary person, this does feel very real. Especially when growing up. You don't feel right in your own body. You learn to hate the parts that you can't get rid of. You also start to question your sexuality, although they are different aspects, they do affect each other and I feel like they did a really good job displaying correctly the emotions! "You can just swap them out" When in reality it's much more difficult than that, it's a state of mind and body.

As non binary this hit me so hard! The way zooble talked about their parts! I felt it in my soul! Zooble because one of my top fav characters! I already loved Kinger but this ep just was chefs kiss my favorite by far! My two babies getting so much screen time!
