There should be no meetings between a US government official with another official of another country without complete and specific notes on what was discussed. Sessions explaining what he discussed sounded like he had breakfast with a sibling and trying to remember what was said. No...not as a government official.

It is Mr. Kislyak's job to do everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING to further Putin's interests. That's the hard truth. Causing the ruin of top US people is just his job. Putin wants the US distracted from what Putin is going to be doing in Europe. The Ukraine is only the beginning. Mr. Kislyak has done very good work for Putin. The US government is falling apart. He will get a bonus this year!

McFaul, it's really nice to have someone point out how innocuous this meeting was and how much it's being overblown. Given that, why did Sessions lie about it? I mean, if it's such a small thing, why lie?

I remember in 2012 before the elections in Russia we had the same scandals with opposition leaders meeting with Michael McFaul (he was the ambassador at this time), the irony is that they asked him about Sergey Kislyak, and he was in exact same situation in 2012.
